My OSA had been untreated for several years, desperate for help I reached out to the University California Irvine (UCI) in January 2023. On the night of 01/31/2023, I took a Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) through UCI and came up with a baseline overall AHI of 14.8 per hour. I tried CPAP again for the fourth time.
During this period I was still searching for a non-CPAP treatment. Fortunately by August of 2023 I had invented the Pure Prone Sleep Apnea Mattress and filed a patent. On the night of 11/07/23 I took another HSAT through UCI on the Pure Prone Mattress the results showed my overall AHI was 6.6 per hour.
From the HSAT interpretation report:
“This is an abnormal HSAT with evidence of mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The recording was obtained during use of a novel positional device and demonstrates significant reduction in the AHI from baseline.”
In fact if you look at the granular data I had only one true apnea event, I had two other but I was rolling over when they happened. This is in contrast to the 21 per hour during the HSAT of 01/2023.
