In August of 2023, I invented and file a patent for the worlds first pure prone mattress. On the night of 11/07/2023, I took an HSAT on this mattress.
The results of that HSAT:
"The recording was obtained during use of a novel positional device and demonstrates significant reduction in the AHI from baseline."
In fact if you look at the granular data, you find that while in the pure prone position I had only 1 true apnea event. I had 2 other apnea events while in pure prone but those occurred when I was turning over onto my side. This was ALL NIGHT!
Consider this in light that if I slept supine (on my back), I would have 21 apnea events per hour.
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is the gold standard treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), unfortunately 50% of patients cannot handle it. I am one of those patients. Over the years I have purchased 3 CPAP machines.
I am offering hope to my fellow humans suffering from this terrible affliction.
